About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, innovative snack food company based in Singapore. They manufacture, market, and distribute their unique products through major retail channels (supermarkets, convenience stores, F&B chains) and online platforms.

They are now seeking a Business Development Manager to lead their market expansion into Malaysia. This is a critical, high-impact role responsible for driving growth, identifying new business opportunities, and building long-term strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial mindset and a deep, practical understanding of Malaysia’s FMCG and F&B landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Entry & Strategy: Lead the development and execution of all market entry strategies for Malaysia, aligned with the company's regional objectives.
  • Business Development (B2B/B2C): Actively identify, pursue, and secure new sales channels in both the B2C (retail) and B2B (corporate, F&B) segments, with a strong focus on the FMCG retail market (supermarkets, minimarts, petrol kiosks, etc.).
  • Sales Cycle Management: Manage the full sales process: write and deliver compelling sales proposals, lead contract negotiations, and finalize pricing and commercial terms with new clients and partners.
  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement effective online and offline marketing strategies to support the brand launch and achieve growth objectives.
  • Account & Partner Management: Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with clients, distributors, partners, and key industry stakeholders. Schedule and conduct regular meetings and product demonstrations.
  • Performance & Reporting: Set, track, and be accountable for key sales and growth targets. Monitor and report on all sales performance metrics.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnership roles, specifically within the FMCG or F&B industry in Malaysia.
  • A deep and current understanding of Malaysia’s consumer retail landscape (e.g., existing relationships with buyers from supermarkets, minimarts, convenience chains).
  • A strong understanding of the Malaysian market and local business culture.
  • A self-motivated, goal-oriented individual who can work independently in a hybrid environment.
  • Full professional fluency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is mandatory.
