About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Automotive Salesman to lead their high-performing sales team.

This is a key leadership role responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing all vehicle inventory, and overseeing the entire sales process to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong, proven track record in automotive sales and a deep understanding of end-to-end dealership operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to drive business growth and expand market share.
  • Lead and oversee the entire sales process, from initial customer inquiry to final vehicle delivery, ensuring exceptional customer service and strict compliance with all company policies and industry regulations.
  • Take full ownership of vehicle inventory management, including stock rotation, strategic pricing, and the execution of all promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on all sales performance metrics and KPIs, preparing regular, detailed reports for senior management.
  • Build and maintain strong, high-level relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, finance partners, and manufacturers.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for complex customer issues, resolving them with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor automotive market trends, competitor activities, and shifting customer preferences to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Aftersales departments to create a cohesive dealership-wide strategy and maximize performance.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in automotive sales.
  • A demonstrable and consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of vehicle financing options, trade-in processes, and end-to-end dealership operations.
  • Must hold a valid Australian driver's licence.
