Technical Sales Engineer (Drawing & Costing Specialist)
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Sales & Business Development
- Drive the end-to-end B2B sales cycle for advanced lift solutions, from lead generation and prospecting to deal closure, ensuring all revenue targets are met.
- Proactively identify and cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including property developers, architects, M&E consultants, contractors, and facilities management companies.
- Conduct technical site visits and in-depth needs-analyses to accurately assess client requirements and propose tailored, customized solutions.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals, detailed technical specifications, and comprehensive cost-benefit analyses to senior stakeholders.
2. Technical Consultation & Solutioning
- Act as the primary technical expert and consultant for clients, providing expert guidance on elevator selection, customization options, and compliance with all relevant safety and building regulations.
- Collaborate closely with internal design, engineering, and operations teams to develop technically sound and commercially viable solutions that meet customer needs.
- Address all technical inquiries from clients, conduct feasibility studies, and provide critical input on new installation, maintenance, and modernization projects.
3. Project & Client Management
- Serve as the key point of contact for the client throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring smooth coordination from initiation to final handover and commissioning.
- Liaise effectively with internal operations and installation teams to guarantee the timely and successful execution of projects according to specification.
- Conduct strategic post-sales follow-ups to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and proactively identify upselling opportunities (e.g., modernization projects, multi-year maintenance contracts).
- Maintain meticulous records of all client interactions, sales progress, and market intelligence using the company's CRM system.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or a related technical field).
- A minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in technical sales, B2B sales, or engineering solutions.
- Strong technical understanding of complex mechanical/electrical systems (e.g., lift systems, building services, or industrial automation).
- Solid knowledge of technical specifications and safety regulations in the building and construction industry.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- A highly self-motivated, proactive, and independent problem-solver.
- Willingness to travel regionally for client meetings, site visits, and project discussions.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
- Direct experience in the elevator/vertical mobility industry or in M&E equipment sales is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with key building/elevator standards (e.g., BCA, EN81, ISO).
- An existing network of contacts within property development, architectural firms, or facilities management.
- Professional fluency in English (fluency in other regional languages such as Mandarin, Thai, or Bahasa Indonesia is a major plus).
