Job Description:

Job Title: Lead Electromechanical Systems Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Singapore

Job Type: Full-time

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leader in advanced robotics, is seeking a Lead Electromechanical Systems Engineer. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will take end-to-end ownership of the integration of mechanical hardware, electrical modules, and wiring harnesses.

You will be responsible for setting the technical direction for packaging power and data distribution, driving cross-disciplinary alignment, and managing the complete design lifecycle from proof-of-concept through pilot and full production builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Systems Integration Leadership: Define the architecture for all power and communication distribution networks, consolidating and designing connectors, busbars, wire harnesses, and sensor interfaces.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Lead high-visibility initiatives by partnering with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to meet all system-level goals.
  • Packaging & Layout: Design and package critical electronics modules, enclosures, and cabling assemblies, optimizing for space, serviceability, and robustness.
  • Prototype & Validation: Oversee prototype builds, instrument wiring harnesses, and validate all assemblies through rigorous performance, environmental, and reliability testing.
  • DFM & Supplier Engagement: Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and coordinate with contract manufacturers and tooling partners to refine designs for high-volume production.
  • Process & Team Leadership: Establish and manage processes for ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), oversee beta and pilot build cycles, and mentor junior engineers on best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in electromechanical product development.
  • Industry: A background in robotics, industrial automation, or complex consumer electronics is ideal.
  • Education: BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Core Technical Skills:

    • Deep understanding of harness architecture, connector systems, and rigid-flex/FFC/FPC technologies.
    • Hands-on knowledge of analog/digital electronics fundamentals, including switching regulators, MOSFETs, op-amps, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (SCI/I2C).
    • Proficiency in CATIA or equivalent CAD software for designing parts, harness trays, and enclosure layouts.
    • Expertise in tolerance stack-ups, thermal management, and first-principles analysis (stress, cost, mass optimization).
  • Programming: Scripting ability in Python and C for test automation, data analysis, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups.
  • Collaboration: A proven ability to present complex technical trade-offs and drive consensus across distributed, multi-disciplinary teams.

Why Join This Opportunity?

You will be part of a core team defining the next generation of humanoid robots. This role offers genuine ownership of system architecture and the freedom to innovate, allowing you to see your designs come to life in real-world deployments. This environment is suited for individuals who can work with a high degree of collaboration and who can deliver results in a setting focused on rapid progress.

How to Apply

Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume, detailing their experience in integrating complex electromechanical systems.
