About the Opportunity
Our client is a global leader in the agricultural technology and animal production industry. They are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead their Business Unit (BU) for Poultry sales activities across the key markets of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
This is a senior commercial role responsible for developing new business, executing growth strategies, and maximizing long-term profitable growth. You will be responsible for the full sales budget, including volume, margin, and market share, and will lead the local sales team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & P&L Management
- Hold full responsibility for the regional sales budget (target), including P&L responsibilities for the Poultry BU.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales, Asia, to analyze the market and determine the regional sales strategy and a market-specific pricing policy.
- Implement the annual sales operating plan and prepare detailed sales performance reports for monthly or quarterly strategic reviews.
2. Sales, Team & Partner Management
- Coach and manage the local sales and sales support teams to achieve company objectives and deliver excellent service.
- Actively enhance, optimize, and control the agent network within the territory.
- Maintain regular updates and utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program to manage client relationships and sales pipelines.
- Resolve any customer complaints regarding sales and service, and manage key client relationships.
3. Technical Consultation & Collaboration
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all products, solutions, and services to advise investors on suitable designs with an optimal and competitive budget.
- Provide high-level consultation and advice on suitable farm design and lay-out, negotiate pricing, and set payment terms.
- Participate in generating "Proven Solutions," sales manuals, and product/solution templates for proposals and other sales materials.
- Work in close collaboration with the Customer Solutions team and HQ to ensure a smooth order handling process and to provide market feedback for new product ideas.
- Represent the company at trade shows and other relevant marketing projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Animal Production, or any other equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in investment goods (capital equipment) sales.
- Must have relevant experience as a Sales Manager with direct P&L responsibilities.
- A proven business track record and strong commercial acumen.
- Must be able- to travel within the assigned region - India, Pakistan, Bangladesh
